What is a Waste Collection Center?
The definition is reported in the Legislative Decree of 8 April 2008: they are "manned and equipped areas where only collection activities are carried out, by grouping for homogeneous fractions for transport to recovery plants, treatment and, for non-recoverable fractions, of disposal of urban and similar waste..., conferred in a differentiated manner respectively by domestic and non-domestic users..."
Therefore, they are not landfills but special centers where you can take your waste to make the correct separate collection.
In the collection centers it is possible to bring both the waste produced daily in our homes (paper, plastic, glass, metals etc ...), which we can also provide in road bins or containers placed in the courtyards of buildings, and other types of waste (eg appliances, bulky waste, hazardous waste etc ...).
In almost all the Municipalities belonging to the territory of the Metropolitan City of Turin, there is at least one Collection Center, where it is possible to confer many different types of waste. For more information, consult the list, divided by waste management consortium, which you find below; you can also view the Collection Centers on the dedicated map. If you do not know which Consortium your municipality belongs to, consult the dedicated page.
