SCS

SCS was founded in 1996 from the transformation of the "Consorzio di Igiene Urbana" (Urban Hygiene Consortium) into a joint stock company. Each of the 57 Municipalities that form our company is a member of SCS, which manages the service entrusted by the "Consorzio Canavesano Ambiente". SCS provides urban ground hygiene services, as well as waste collection and transport, to about 108,000 inhabitants in this territory.

In these associated Municipalities the waste collection systems are:

  • Isobarone System (paper and unsorted waste are collected door-to-door, there is a road collection for plastic and glass, and no collection is provided for organic or green waste if not requested by the users who don’t home composting);
  • Internalized System (provides door-to-door collection for unsorted waste, paper, green waste, there is a road collection for plastic and glass and a neighbourhood collection for the organic fraction).

WARNING
In these pages, the colors of the UNI 11686: 2017 "Waste Visual Elements" standard are used to identify the different waste fractions. In your Municipality the separate waste is collected by the use of bins with these colors, that differ from that standard:

  • Paper: YELLOW containers
  • Plastic and metal: LIGHT BLUE containers
  • Glass: GREEN containers
  • Organic: BROWN containers
  • Unsorted: ORANGE containers

Change the SCS garbage cans: grey tub and coloured lid

The equipment will all have the tank of the same color gray, while the lid will have the color determined by the type of waste that can contain: orange for undifferentiated, yellow for paper, brown for organic, gray for mowing, green for glass (only for non-domestic utilities) and blue for plastics and metals (only for non-domestic utilities). Nothing changes, however, for the multi-material and glass waste bells already positioned in the territory and available to citizens who will remain unchanged in color and mode of use.

CDR Albiano and Caluso temporary closures for maintenance work

For maintenance work in the Collection Centres (CDR) of Albiano d'Ivrea and Caluso, the following closing days will be observed:

For the Caluso Center, more involved in closures, we have planned an extraordinary opening in the CDR Strambino on the day of 03/08 in the afternoon (13.30-18.15).

Continued positive results of the use of orange bags SCS for undifferentiated waste

Today the citizens of Tavagnasco, Salerano, Villareggia, Mazzè, Cuceglio, Azeglio, Burolo, Candia Canavese, Samone Canavese and soon also those of San Martino Canavese.
The data confirm in these municipalities a reduction in the percentage weight of undifferentiated waste from 15 to 50%: a more sustainable environment and greater attention to separate collection!

HOLIDAY 2 JUNE - VARIATION OF WASTE COLLECTION

On the occasion of the holiday of 2 June, the waste collection service will not be carried out, with the exception of the Municipality of Ivrea where the collection of street glass and plastic and mixed waste is confirmed. On the calendar and times of waste collection web page for each Municipality, it is possible to view the days in which the paper collection will be recovered.

The activity will resume regularly in each municipality, with the usual calendar, from 3 June.
