SCS

SCS was founded in 1996 from the transformation of the "Consorzio di Igiene Urbana" (Urban Hygiene Consortium) into a joint stock company. Each of the 57 Municipalities that form our company is a member of SCS, which manages the service entrusted by the "Consorzio Canavesano Ambiente". SCS provides urban ground hygiene services, as well as waste collection and transport, to about 108,000 inhabitants in this territory.

In these associated Municipalities the waste collection systems are:

  • Isobarone System (paper and unsorted waste are collected door-to-door, there is a road collection for plastic and glass, and no collection is provided for organic or green waste if not requested by the users who don’t home composting);
  • Internalized System (provides door-to-door collection for unsorted waste, paper, green waste, there is a road collection for plastic and glass and a neighbourhood collection for the organic fraction).

Notes

WARNING
In these pages, the colors of the UNI 11686: 2017 "Waste Visual Elements" standard are used to identify the different waste fractions. In your Municipality the separate waste is collected by the use of bins with these colors, that differ from that standard:

  • Paper: YELLOW containers
  • Plastic and metal: LIGHT BLUE containers
  • Glass: GREEN containers
  • Organic: BROWN containers
  • Unsorted: ORANGE containers

Positive data on orange garbage bags confirmed

Since 2020, 18 municipalities have joined the initiative to exclusively adopt the orange garbage bag of Società Canavesana Servizi for the conferral of undifferentiated waste and continue the comforting data on the weights collected.

The weight of the undifferentiated waste has, on average, been reduced by 28% and we find an almost generalized increase in the percentage of separate collection (on average by 5%), a sign that the waste is now handled more correctly.

At the start RAEE AL CENTRO the new project on Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment

The new communication campaign on WEEE funded by the WEEE Coordination Centre (CDC RAEE) to raise awareness of the correct delivery of this type of waste and to encourage the use of collection centres. It will also be activated a collection for small WEEE (mobile phones, ear tablets, consoles etc) in secondary schools of II degree of the territory.

8 December - Waste collection service suspended

On the occasion of the feast of 8 December, the service of waste collection will not be carried out, except for the Municipality of Ivrea where it is confirmed the collection of undifferentiated, glass and plastic for domestic users.

The collection of the card will be recovered according to the calendar of each municipality in the page www.scsivrea.it

The service will resume regularly on 9 December

Holidays 1 November - Variation of the collection service

On November 1 the waste collection service will not be carried out, with the exception of the Municipality of Ivrea where it is confirmed the collection of glass and plastic road waste and undifferentiated waste.  

The collection of the paper will be recovered according to the calendars published on the website www.scsivrea.it

The activity will resume regularly from day November 2.
