Take part in our Universal Civil Service project!

If you love the environment and want to do your part, if you are curious and interested in the world of waste management, we think this opportunity may be for you!

On 15th December 2022, the new call for the selection of Universal Civil Service volunteer operators was published on the Dipartimento per le Politiche Giovanili e il Servizio Civile Universale website. Projects in the call are aimed at young people between the ages of 18 and 28 and will last between 8 and 12 months, depending on the project chosen. A monthly allowance of € 444.30 is provided for volunteer workers.

The Città metropolitana di Torino is part of the group of public entities that has proposed numerous Civil Service projects; it is ready to welcome 221 young people, of which 82 places are reserved for Youth with Minor Opportunities. Among these proposals, we point out the "Pianeta Verde" project, part of the "Presto Che È Tardi" intervention program and also managed by the Ufficio Ciclo Integrato dei Rifiuti e Economia Circolare, at the Direzione Rifiuti, Bonifiche e Sicurezza Siti produttivi, in which four positions are available. For the selected operators, the project includes a series of activities and jobs, which can be summarized in the following macro-activities:

  • Improving the accessibility of information reported on institutional websites, particularly on the "Ciclo integrato Rifiuti" page of the Città metropolitana di Torino institutional website and in the different sections of the Beata la differenziata website;
  • Implement and promote projects, aimed at raising awareness on sustainable consumption;
  • Support local entities in the sustainable management of events in the territory, which involve significant waste production, especially food waste and "disposable" tableware. Therefore, it is intended to propose to those involved the adoption of models aimed at reducing food waste and replacing disposable tableware with reusable alternatives;
  • To process and disseminate monthly and annual data inherent to waste collection, at the level of municipalities and Consorzi di Area Vasta (CAV) located in the metropolitan territory, in order to define new indicators on the performance of collections and the resulting economic, social and environmental impacts.

In addition, the project also includes numerous topics to be covered during the training period, such as waste management, combating food waste and environmental protection.

The application deadline has been set for Friday, 10th February 2022, at 14:00. We look forward to seeing you!
