"Ugly to whom? I am Bella dentro!". Arrives also in Italy the movement of ransom of the Ugly Food

Do you know what "Ugly Food" is? All those vegetables and fruits that, even if grown with care, have grown a little "ugly", imperfect, unsuitable for showing off on a glittering supermarket counter and destined, therefore, to be thrown away. But, despite this, very good. Abroad, a few years ago, the "ugly food" movement was born, which aims to enhance these vegetables and fruits too, avoiding them ending up in landfills and indeed, collecting them at the source, placing them in the market, especially local, at affordable prices and also making them become a vehicle for a different consumer awareness. In Italy, at the moment, there are three interesting experiences: the Milanese start-ups Bella dentro and Babaco Market and the "Così per natura" initiative launched by the Natura Sì Supermarkets in collaboration with Legambiente. Bella dentro, active in Milan, saves imperfect fruit and vegetables from farms and sells them to consumers, restaurants and buying groups, while Babaco Market is an anti-waste delivery service that, in the first three months of activity, saved 5 , 5 tons of imperfect fruit and vegetables, offering customers an average savings of 30% compared to the retail cost. Finally, in its supermarkets, Natura Sì offers for sale fruit and vegetables from the "Così per natura" line, a project launched with Legambiente, thanks to which imperfect fruit and vegetables can be purchased with a 50% discount.
