Informing citizens and institutions and raising their awareness about a careful use of resources, a sustainable consumption pattern and the correct deposit of waste produced are some of the pourposes of Turin metropolitan City. That’s what the La tua differenziata Progressive Web App (PWA) is for. This new tool, developed by the Turin metropolitan City in collaboration with the Basin Consortia and all the local waste collection companies, replaces the old “Beato chi lo sApp” app.
La tua differenziata PWA is a new channel that can provide useful information and tools to know all the stages of the correct waste management, from prevention to separate collection, which is the indispensable step for effective recycling with a view to circular economy. Among the contents of La tua differenziata PWA you can find an integrated dictionary to receive useful ideas to extend the life of everyday goods, avoiding to turn them into waste immediately, but also to change our consumption pattern so as to prevent waste itself.
A handy map also allows you to view the reduce and reuse points: shops, associations, bars and restaurants, workshops, and others, where you can buy products without packaging, repair objects and artifacts, donate discarded items and actively engage in the fight against food waste. Furthermore, with an easy recommendation, it is also possible to see the existing list of reduce and reuse points grow further.
If, despite this, you still need to get rid of something, La tua differenziata provides you with the indications to deposit it into the right bin (also displayed on the interactive map) and the door-to-door collection calendar, within the areas covered by this service.
Very useful are also the references to the entities managing the waste collection, which allow users to have a direct contact in real time for any report relating to the service in their own municipality. The Consortia end waste management Companies themselves have a dedicated area, within the La tua differenziata PWA, to provide useful information on the activities in each municipality or details of the collection service.
The integrated dictionary, notifications about the steps of the door-to-door waste collection as well as press releases and news are customized on the individual user location (Municipality and house number or collection area), with the possibility to select more places of interest (e.g. house, shop, second or holiday home, etc.) that will be saved on your device.
The project, which involved the entire metropolitan area, has been awarded in the annual competition for the local communication best practices, promoted by the National association of Italian municipalities (ANCI) and the National Packaging Consortium (Conai) in 2020.
