The Coronavirus pandemic quarantine has changed many habits of our daily life and among these, in the first place, also those linked to our diet and shopping. Many have written about these changes, highlighting among the most interesting aspects those most closely related to the environmental emergencies. The chain of production, transformation, distribution and consumption of food on a global scale can in fact be counted among the processes responsible for many of the most impacting phenomena on the environment: deforestation, loss of biodiversity, abnormal consumption of soil and water, emission of greenhouse gas, waste of huge quantities of still edible food…. The pandemic could therefore be an important opportunity to reflect on how to try to reduce our impact on the planet.
