The European Week for Waste Reduction (SERR) has reached its 16th edition this year!
The theme of SERR 2024 is food waste, a thematic focus already used in 2014, and was chosen to address the issue of growing food waste. Every year, tonnes of food end up unnecessarily in waste, causing environmental damage and wasting valuable resources. How can you promote a culture of waste prevention and responsible waste management within your community? Public administrations, oriented towards looking after the interests of the community, play a crucial role in raising awareness and involving citizens and local actors in order to implement sustainable change.
From 2 September 2024 until 6 November, registrations will be open to take part in the 16th European Week for Waste Reduction (SERR), Europe's largest call-to-action to create awareness about the excessive amounts of waste produced.
An international campaign to promote awareness-raising actions on waste reduction, concentrating thousands of initiatives organised by participants across Europe - citizens, businesses, schools, public administrations and associations/NGOs - during a single week, this year from 16 to 24 November.
Participating is easy, just register via the dedicated form at the following link https://form.jotform.com/241856227951059 (there is still the possibility of registering via the European platform www.ewwr.eu).
You can also follow @serrmenorifiuti on social media and find out about events related to the theme, subscribe to the newsletter and join the Telegram channel at this link https://linktr.ee/serrmenorifiuti.
After the great involvement of the 15th edition (collecting 4,744 shares in Italy alone) which marked an important milestone for the campaign, SERR is ready to start again.
