The RePoPP project - Porta Palazzo Organic Project - was started in 2016 with the aim of maximizing the separate collection and recovery of still edible fruit and vegetables. The initiative, which was started by the Environmental Department of the Municipality of Turin, Amiat – Iren Group, the Association “Eco dalle Città” and Novamont, also involved dozens of "Ecomori" who helped recover hundreds of tons of food.
Every day from Monday to Saturday, the Ecomori and the Waste’s Sentinels recover the food surpluses of the various market stalls, and redistribute them to those in need.
In addition to having launched an efficient system for the recovery of food that can still be consumed within the Porta Palazzo food market, also several awareness raising and educational activities in the separate collection of organic waste were carried out.
On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the project, on Friday, November the 19th. starting at 12:15, an event will be held at the Repopp banquet in Porta Palazzo, with short moments of show and press conference, which will also be attended by the president of Amiat Christian Aimaro and the Councilor for the Environment Chiara Foglietta.
Furthermore, around 6 pm on the same day, an “ecomora snack” will be offered at the Banco Circolare stand at the Central Market, where greetings and congratulations will be exchanged for the achievement of this goal.
