On September the 19th it will take place the World Cleanup Day, for which in the next weekends there will be also in Italy a series of initiatives aimed at the individuation and removal of waste in different areas of our territory. In view of this day, on Sunday 12th it will take place the Trashchallenge - Operazione Po, with the aim of cleaning the nearby areas of the Po river by removing abandoned waste and garbage transported by the river.
The initiative promoted by the project Vie d’Acqua, of the Area "il Pianeta azzurro" of the Istituto per l’Ambiente e l’Educazione Scholé Futuro Onlus - Weec network, in collaboration with Decathlon, Casa dell’Ambiente, United Sport Vdl, Associazione Triciclo and Legambiente Metropolitano, Leroy Merlin, Amiat Gruppo Iren and the Red Cross, aspires to raise the awareness relatively to the relation between river environment and humans with the aim to let emerge the cultural, environmental and economic potentialities that the river offers.
The program of the day will be the following:
- 09.00: meeting at the Imbarchino (viale Umberto Cagni 37), registration, event presentation, division in groups and distribution of kits to the volunteers
- 10.00-13.00: cleaning of waters, shore and perifluvial areas with groups of rowers, paddlers, runners and ciclists
- 13.00-14.00: offered lunch break
- 14.00-16.30: cleaning and conclusion of sport and working activities
- from 17.00 onwards: metting at the Imbarchino for the aperitivo with buffet and dj - set
