One Planet School, WWF's e-learning platform is online.

WWF Italia has designed and built One Planet School, a permanent, innovative and free learning and knowledge platform aimed at everyone. A path to understand the present and build a future of well-being and sustainability. The platform is structured in three major sections and in two macro-types: one aimed at the general public and one aimed at teachers, the latter enriched with activity sheets, videos, insights, presentations, links to external resources.

29 September 2020: First International Day of Awareness on Food Loss and Waste

On December 19, 2019, the United Nations General Assembly designated September 29 as the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste (IDAFLW), recognizing its value as a means of raising awareness on the importance of the problem and possible solutions, to all levels and at every stage of the food chain. The slogan chosen for the day, “Stop food loss and waste. For the people.

The World Food Program wins the Nobel Peace Prize. Eliminate hunger also with the fight against food waste.

"I believe what the committee has done today is to acknowledge the fact that we cannot ignore the poor, needy and vulnerable who are suffering all over the world," said David Beasley, executive director of the World Food Program in a conversation with Olav. Njølstad, director of the Norwegian Nobel Institute. In this interview all the joy and the surprise for winning such a high award. Beasley describes how he heard the news: "Someone walked in and said 'The Nobel Peace Prize!' and I said 'Yeah, what about?' And he said "we won!".

Reduce single-use plastic waste. ANCI-Emilia Romagna draws up a handbook dedicated to the Municipalities

The issue of plastics, and in particular the problem of pollution of the marine environment by plastic waste (the so-called "marine litter"), has assumed increasing importance in recent years. To support the definition and implementation of municipal waste reduction strategies deriving from the use of single-use plastic products, ANCI Emilia Romagna has recently published a useful handbook by Paolo Azzurro, Giovanna Pinca, Alessandro Rossi.

European Week for Waste Reduction 2020: registration is open!

We are pleased to announce that registrations for the 12th edition of the European Waste Reduction Week (EWWWW) have opened on 1st September and you can register until 5th November! The new Edition of the EWWR, the largest European campaign on waste prevention, will be held from 21 to 29 November 2020. The theme chosen for this year's actions will be "Invisible waste. What is your real weight?" dedicated to waste which we do not realize but which enormously "burdens" our daily life. An example?
