"Cresco Award - Sustainable Cities": the "Circular Ecosystems" Award to the Metropolitan City of Turin!

The fifth edition of the "Cresco Award Città Sostenibili", promoted by Fondazione Sodalitas in collaboration with Anci (National Association of Italian Municipalities) and under the patronage of the European Commission and the Ministry of the Environment, which aims to reward and highlight the commitment of Italian local authorities for the sustainable development of territories, has just ended. Great is the satisfaction of our Office that, with the Project "Circular Economy: new tools for citizens", has won the prize "Circular Ecosystems". But what does the Project presented consist of? It consists in the creation and release of a PWA (Progressive Web App), dedicated to the correct management of waste, starting from the prevention and gradually up to the separate collection. The PWA, created in close collaboration with the waste management entities of our territory, differs from a normal App for a series of technical and functional features that make it easier to manage and consult. In addition to the sections already present in the previous App made in 2012 (which have been updated and implemented), the PWA will contain a series of data calibrated on the individual territorial realities, from the days of waste collection to the specific "news" of the individual Consortium. Moreover, another strong point, great emphasis has been given to the information and awareness sections of all users (domestic and not) to lead them, hopefully, more and more towards "virtuous" behaviors of waste reduction. The release of the new App is scheduled for early 2021. The award ceremony was held online on November 19, 2020 on the occasion of the National Assembly of ANCI. The metropolitan councillor in charge of the Environment, Prof.ssa Barbara Azzarà, received the award offered by DNV-GL, partner company of CRESCO AWARD. We are very happy with the award and we are waiting for you, as soon as possible, to try our new App. Stay tuned!
