Waste collection centers: how to access during the new Covid-19 emergency? Piedmont Region clarifies.

The Piedmont Region has transmitted an official note that provides some indications on the management of municipal and consortium collection centers, intended for the collection of urban waste delivered directly from domestic and/or non-domestic users. The Prime Ministerial Decree of November 3, 2020 allows the mobility of citizens within the regional territory only for work, health or for situations of need but - unlike what happened in March - allows most companies to continue the activity. The Region has therefore invited municipalities, public consortia and waste collection companies to keep the collection centers for the delivery of urban waste by non-household users and households that need it. In summary, it is suggested to the managers of the collection centers of:

    - allow access to the collection centers only by reservation or by appointment and arrange a limitation of the number of accesses for the same user (for example, no more than twice a month).
    - give indications to the user to access by wearing the mask
    - Implement access modes to the center that ensure that the interpersonal distances between users and employees at the center and between waiting users are respected.
    - to encourage the use of alternative forms of service, such as on-call home collection for bulky waste, WEEE, etc..

The citizen who intends to go to the collection center will naturally have to comply with national legislation by declaring, through self-certification, that he is in a situation of need and the relative motivation, possibly accompanying the declaration with appropriate supporting documentation. Finally, as far as the Reuse Centers are concerned, the Piedmont Region suggests instead to suspend their activity, at least as long as the limitations indicated in art. 2 and 3 of the Prime Ministerial Decree of November 3, 2020 will remain for our region.  The full note of the Piedmont Region is available for consultation.
